SOPWITH CAMEL SOPWITH CAMEL (Reference #064)
An outstanding scale replica of the most famous fighter of the First World War in hand cast solid English pewter.

The Sopwith Camel was commissioned in May 1917 and proved to be one of the most successful fighter aircraft ot the First World War. It was the equivalent of the Spitfire, being supplied to both the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service. The Sopwith F1 supplied to the RFC was powered by a 110hp Clerget engine and was later replaced by the 110hp Le Rhone engine. The Sopwiths supplied to the RNAS were fitted with the Superior Bentley B.R.1. engine. Both carried twin 303in. Vickers machine guns. This superb collectors model is sculptured in pewter with a wingspan of 14cm and a fuselage length of 9.7cm including propellor. Each model is hand polished and satin finished then finally assembled and mounted onto a Mahogany veneered plinth.

"SOLD OUT" This great model is no longer manufactured, we expect it will be a much sought after collectors piece.

SPITFIRE K5054 (Reference #065)
An outstanding replica of K5054 the "First Spitfire to Fly". Built by Supermarine.

A Collectors' piece of great importance. This was the prototype for all Spitfires to follow.

"Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few" wrote Churchill after the Victory of the Battle of Britain. A tribute to all those N.C.O's and Officers who flew these machines, including Hurricanes; the workhorse of the Battle of Britain and also to all those Servicemen and Women on the ground who kept these machines operational and airworthy.

Designed by Reginald Mitchell and his key players in the birth of the Spitfire, Captain Summers who flew the K5054 on her maiden flight, Major Payne, Mitchell's personal assistant, S. Scott-Hall, Technical Officer, Jeffrey Quill who became the chief test pilot. This precision sculptured model is cast in solid pewter, 1/72nd scale, with a wingspan of 16cm.
